Progress of late has been very slow. It has been two weeks since any progress has been made. But finally, the contractor is back and getting ready for the plasterer. The first thing he did was to use "firestop" to seal all the holes between the kitchen and the floors above and below (that's the red goop surrounding the pipe in the picture below). In case of fire, this prevents the fire from travelling from one floor to another.
Next, all the walls get insulated.
